Refreshed from a good night's sleep and a nice breakfast I took off from Knocksville TN. to Frankfort KY. , which is the state's capital.
Click here to learn more about it. It's a fun way to learn geography!
This leg took me three and a half hours; again enjoying great weather. The more I drove towards north the less I saw the arrival of Spring. It was like going back in time! But there were beautiful trees already in full bloom.
| Rest Area |
the rest area highlighted Kentucky on the building's windows.
It's horses, and beautiful nature.
A very special treat was the
Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea
I had not forgotten the name Berea. Many years ago I had a student at Appalachian State University who told me everything about Berea, Ky. He had been accepted to become an intern at Berea College, a unique place, where students study, produce arts and crafts, all tuition free!
The visit to the Center was a real treat! It is here where I bought the art piece that will bring back memories of my road trip to Iowa.
